Re: Emergency Care Society of South Africa

Are EMSSA and ECSSA the same thing?  Just wondering because you use both abbreviations.

EMSSA are having a symposium in November.  Amongst other things they will be talking about the new resus guidelines emerging after the world congress in America earlier this year.  The details and registration can be found at www.emssa2010.co.za

Re: Emergency Care Society of South Africa

Given what's currently going on aka tertiary educators hijacking our profession, i'd be very careful about joining what seems to be "an organisation of state"

Re: Emergency Care Society of South Africa

3 things:
1)  EMSSA is an independant organisation just like the South African Society of Anaethetists or the Trauma Association of SA etc.
2)  If you had done your homework, you would know this and not worry about how it seems.  You would also know that their aim is to share information.  Members aren't black-balled because they belong to the society. (or why exactly are you so leery?)
3)  It's exactly because nobody wants to stand up for themselves that we are in the mess that we are.  If you know so much about it Mutant Ninja, you should be the first one to sign up to try and fix the problem, not hide behind your own cynicism.  Ever heard that the worst thing that can happen to a society is for good men to do nothing?

Re: Emergency Care Society of South Africa

I am hoping this is the organization that finally makes a stand and can tackle all the issues that we have debated to an end. An organization that has OUR interests at heart. If this is the case, I will pay my fee's and join with a smile.

I will try to make contact and see if they can join in here ans shed some light on the aims and objectives.
